This is the inaugural year for Subaru's largest SUV ever. The 2019 Subaru Ascent is ready to serve families with spacious comfort, serious safety, and modern connectivity.

The turbocharged Boxer engine generates 260 horsepower. Like any good turbo, it kicks out torque at a high rate (277 lb-ft.), and it can tow up to 5,000 pounds. In true Subaru fashion, the Ascent has Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It's the perfect partner when weather conditions are poor. On the trail, you can utilize X-Mode with Hill Descent Control. Ground clearance is a generous 8.7 inches. Ascent SUVs are the only ones in their class to have standard raised roof rails.

Ascent models can seat up to eight people on three rows. You can have a center bench seat for three or utilize second-row captain's chairs for two. Passenger volume is generous at 153 cubic feet. Seats come covered in a slate black cloth, a warm ivory cloth, slate black leather, warm ivory leather or Java brown leather. Subaru makes it easy to get in and out of the back seat by providing extra-wide rear door openings and versatile second-row seats. With 19 cupholders and up to eight USB ports, family needs are covered throughout the cabin. Passengers will appreciate the available Wi-Fi hotspot which gives them access to the internet on their smart devices. Starlink Multimedia brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to your dash. Pandora and Starlink apps are also on board. Families have underfloor storage to supplement the cargo hold. Of course, you can split-fold the seats to create a bigger area for your gear. The rear gate offers a power function with memory settings. Last, but not least, if you want to open up the cabin, there's an available 54-inch panoramic moonroof, another "biggest ever" Subaru moment.

Maintaining safe travel is the job of the standard Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. Parents and other family drivers will appreciate these systems which provide warnings and backup automation to keep the Ascent out of harm's way. Pre-collision braking pairs with pre-collision throttle management, helping you come to a stop when there's danger ahead. A lane departure system is paired with an assist and a sway warning. Standard on most models, a blind spot detection system comes with a rear cross-traffic alert and available reverse automatic braking. In addition to the rearview camera, you can get a Smart Rear-View Mirror which operates at speed, giving you a clear picture of what's behind you. Subaru also offers a 180-degree Front Camera to help with slow maneuvers.
