Differences Between 2019 Subaru Crosstrek & 2019 Honda HR-V

Serving Atlanta, Lawrenceville, and Duluth

2019 Subaru Crosstrek Vs 2019 Honda HR-V Some buyers prefer a hatchback to a conventional compact crossover. Hatchbacks generally offer a more comfortable, spacious interior, and although they don't come with a powerful engine, they're pretty fuel-efficient. The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek, equipped with all-time all-wheel drive, is a great choice for those who plan on lots of driving on the arterials and in bad weather. It boasts a roomy interior, plenty of convenience features, advanced high-tech, and excellent safety scores. The 2019 Honda HR-V is more of a traditional crossover, and although it offers great rear-seat legroom, isn't as roomy overall as the Crosstrek. It also doesn't offer manual transmission. Below, the two vehicles are compared in more detail.

PowerTrain Options

Neither the Crosstrek or the HR-V offer much power, but the Crosstrek makes the most of its smallish engine. It's a 2.0L, four-cylinder engine rated at 153 horsepower. Many buyers will opt for the six-speed manual transmission as it gives the driver more control during acceleration than does the optional CVT. All trims come with all-wheel drive. The Limited trim comes with the CVT as standard. Although acceleration is moderate at best, the Crosstrek promises precise, controlled steering. The 2019 HR-V is equipped with a 1.8L engine that produces a total of 141 horsepower, and the vehicle is a bit heavier than the Crosstrek, so acceleration is quite a problem. All-wheel drive is an option on all three trim levels, but it boosts the price tag. The CVT is the only available transmission choice.

The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek is offered in three trim levels, and the base 2.0i comes with 60/40-split folding rear seats, power front windows, air conditioning, a rearview camera, a 6.5-inch display, and a driver information display. Also standard is smartphone app integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The famous Subaru EyeSight safety suite is now available as an option on the base trim. The uplevel 2.0i Premium trim adds on automatic headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a noise-reducing windshield. This trim also gets an upgraded Starlink system and a six-speaker stereo. The 2.0i Limited trim comes with leather seating, an 8-inch screen display, automatic climate control, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. A sunroof is optional on the two uplevel trims. The 2019 Honda HR-V is offered in a total of five trims, but each successive trim is notably more expensive yet doesn't add much to the standard features. For example, the EX-L is quite a bit ore expensive than the EX, but it adds only leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek can be purchased with the EyeSight safety suite on all trims, and it's standard on the 2.0i Limited. This suite includes forward collision warning with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping assist. The Starlink system includes crash notification and remote services. Reverse automatic braking is also offered. The base trim 2019 HR-V comes with a rearview camera, but the Honda Sensing suite isn't available. In fact, it's not even offered on the uplevel Sport trim.
