A horizontally opposed design is standard in the engine blocks of the 2019 Impreza and Legacy. You'll get up to 152 horsepower from the 2.0 L powertrain that's installed under the hood of the Impreza. Rated at 175 hp, a 2.5 L engine propels most of the Legacy models. Capable of kicking out just above 255 hp, a 3.6 L engine drives the 3.6R Limited edition. Both Subaru sedans get good traction from the Symmetrical AWD that sends the ideal amount of torque to the front and rear wheels. These versatile cars have the Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission that's tuned for sporty driving. Featuring a classic clutch, the manual gearbox in the Impreza has six fixed speeds. The signature CVT in the Legacy includes the Hill Holder function for extra stability on inclined terrains. A manual mode with multiple speeds is also integrated into the Lineartronic transmission. Additionally, both Subaru cars have the Adaptive Control technology in the CVT.

Measuring 8.0-inch diagonally, the STARLINK Multimedia Navigation is available in the 2019 Impreza and Legacy. In addition to browsing detailed maps on the touch screen, you can get the latest information on weather and traffic from SiriusXM Travel Link and Traffic. Yelp is one of several applications that you'll find in the STARLINK portal, which is connected to secure online clouds. When you're in the mood for good music, browse the channels on SiriusXM, Aha, iHeartRadio and Pandora. Both Subaru sedans are also connected to HD Radio and AM/FM radio. Featuring a dozen speakers by Harman Kardon, the Legacy's audio system includes a 576-watt amplifier with the GreenEdge technology. Also designed by Harman Kardon, the Impreza's sound system has eight speakers with a 432-watt amplifier. These well-appointed sedans support Bluetooth and Near Field Communication for universal syncing of mobile devices. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are readily available for smartphone users.

Optional in some of the 2019 Impreza models and standard in the 2019 Legacy, the EyeSight Driver Assist includes cutting-edge safety technology. For example, the Pre-Collision Braking can generate extra braking force if a crash is imminent. The Lane Keep Assist helps you avoid crashing into another car in an adjacent lane. Both Subaru sedans have the Sway Warning and Lane Departure Warning. Not officially powered by the EyeSight Driver Assist, the Reverse Automatic Braking is a class-leading feature that's available in the Impreza and Legacy. These reliable sedans also have rear vision cameras and the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. In emergency situations on the road, you could use the security features in the STARLINK portal, which includes the Automatic Collision Notification.
