Differences Between 2019 Subaru Legacy & 2019 Subaru WRX

Serving Atlanta, Lawrenceville, and Duluth

Subaru is well-known for its lineup of all-wheel drive cars, and it's no wonder these models sell well in areas where drivers regularly encounter bad weather conditions. If a new sedan is on the shopping list, Subaru offers two well-designed, safe choices. The long-running Legacy model is perfect for those who have a teen driver in the household, and the WRX will appeal to anyone who wants something that's both sporty and safe.

Performance

The 2019 Subaru Legacy is a mid-size sedan that comes with a very nice, functional, and spacious interior. There are plenty of trim levels from which to choose, and V6 power is an option. The slightly smaller, sportier 2019 Subaru WRX is also nicely appointed on the interior, and it boasts plenty of horsepower. Both models offer superior safety and peace of mind whether it's a trip to the grocery store or a trip across the country. Read on to learn more about these two models.

Interior

There's nothing especially flashy about the interior of the 2019 Subaru Legacy, but keep in mind this model is targeted toward the practical owner. The cabin is spacious and airy, and the slim roof pillars mean excellent outward visibility. The trunk is also huge and can accept large boxes, awkwardly shaped packages, or a dozen grocery sacks. The door pockets have bottle holders, and the deep compartment in front of the shifter can accept a phone, wallet, and other small items. The uplevel trims come with dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Limited trims come with full leather upholstery. The 2019 Subaru WRX is offered in five standard trim levels, and all come with automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver's seat, and split-folding rear seats. The Premium and above trims can be ordered with a package that adds Recaro front seats. The Limited trim is adorned with leather upholstery.
The entry-level 2019 Subaru Legacy trim, the 2.5i, comes with a 6.5-inch screen display, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone app integration, and HD and satellite radio. Stepping up to the 2.5i Premium, one gets an 8-inch screen and a six-speaker sound system. The 2.5i and 3.6R Limited trims come with driver seat memory settings and a nice 12-speaker Harman Kardon stereo system. The 2019 Subaru WRX base trim comes with the same standard high-tech features as the base trim Legacy. The uplevel trims feature a 7-inch screen display, keyless entry and ignition, and a navigation system.

Safety

If safety systems are a priority, then Subaru vehicles should be a must on the shopping list. The 2019 Subaru Legacy now comes with the EyeSight system as standard equipment, even on the base trim. It includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assist. The rearview camera is also standard. The Legacy also gets top marks in crash tests, making it a solid choice for those who expect lower insurance rates. The 2019 WRX comes with the EyeSight system on all but the base trim. Keep in mind, however, that it's only offered on the CVT versions, not the manual transmission models. Both the Legacy and WRX are all-time all-wheel drive, a rarity in the automotive world, and both models perform admirably when driven over snow or ice.

These two models are worth every penny paid, and that fact is made even more pleasing considering their affordability.
