The 2018 Subaru WRX is a sporty sedan that has a track-inspired design. Both models have high-performance features under the hood, such as the turbocharged BOXER engine. Trunk spoilers and underspoilers add aerodynamic utility and aggressive styling to these WRX models. Additionally, Subaru's signature STARLINK technology connects you to awesome entertainment, reliable guidance and other applications.

Powertrain

Running on the Direct Injection Turbocharged (DIT) technology, the 2.0 L BOXER engine is standard in the 2018 WRX Subaru Premium and Limited. When this horizontally opposed, four-cylinder engine revolves at 2,000 RPM or above, it produces a peak torque of 258 pound-feet. This signature powertrain has a maximum output of 258 horsepower and 5,600 RPM. Both WRX models are equipped with a six-speed manual transmission system that has carbon components in the first and second ratios. The Incline Start Assist is included in this fully synchronized transmission system. If you want more versatility in gear changes, select the optional Sport Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission. Up to eight gear speeds are available in the manual mode of this dynamic CVT. The Auto Vehicle Hold applies extra braking force on inclined roads and hills. Staying true to tradition, both Subaru trims roll on the standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Tuned for sporty performance on the track, the Variable Torque Distribution AWD is also available for the WRX Premium and Limited editions.

Interior Amenities

Featuring adjustable head restraints, the performance-design front seats are standard in the 2018 WRX Premium and Limited. The All-Weather Package adds heating to these track-inspired seats. Optional in the Premium trim, the Rearco and Ultrasuede materials are soft, durable and appealing. An eight-way, power-adjustable driver's seat is installed in this edition, and the Limited has a 10-way driver's seat with power functions. Both cars have sporty pedals that are covered in polished aluminum. The sport-design electroluminescent gauges add some cool character to the cockpit. Full-sweep needles are integrated into the meters of the analog instrument cluster. An automatic climate control system with a single zone circulates warm or cold air inside these Subaru sedans.

Technology

A 7.0-inch touch screen with the STARLINK technology is set up in the 2018 WRX Premium and Limited. You can stream thousands of music channels on this patented infotainment system. From Aha and Stitcher to iHeartRadio and SiriusXM, you won't run out of entertainment options in these Subaru cars. If you'd like to listen to premium-quality acoustics, then install the optional Harman Kardon sound system in the Limited edition. This model also offers a GPS navigation platform with traffic, weather and other updates from SiriusXM. Siri Eyes Free and Bluetooth are some of the mobile-friendly features that are included in the STARLINK suite.
